Our first ever Books Are My Bag day was such a success! It was a fantastic day of biscuit decorating, Cat in the Hat searching and creative colouring-in! We also had Julia Donaldson pop into the shop during the afternoon, met some budding readers, and signed copies of her books!
Local author David Elder who is well known for his fascinating books "Literary Cheltenham" and "Cheltenham Heritage Walks" held an event to celebrate the publication of his book "50 Cotswold Gems".
Launch for YA novel Darkmere with author Helen Maslin signing copies of her book which has been receiving 5* reviews. A great evening was enjoyed by a number of family and friends with chocolate cupcakes and balloons to celebrate the launch.
We had a "very" full house to hear journalist Barnaby Philips speak about his book "Another Man's War" - it was a fascinating and compassionate insight into the role of West African soldiers in Burma during the second world war. There is a review of the book at the shop to peruse.
We held a book launch for a crime novel set in Cheltenham called "Paternoster " for author Kim Fleet on Tuesday 7th July - it was a great success with over 60 people attending and many books bought and signed!
Pip Jones came into the shop enroute to The Hay Festival. Signed copies of her book are available.
We welcomed American historian Kristie Dean to discuss her new book which takes you on a historical journey through the landscape of his time. The talk was attended by a sell out audience.
Written by a local author Sue Rowbotham and illustrator Camille Medina, this delightful book will be enjoyed by young children as they explore the world of rainbows and colours. Sue and Camille joined us on Bank Holiday Monday and everyone who came had a great time!
